Online Movement Assessment · Australia-Wide & Overseas
Online Movement Assessment,
Wherever You Are
A structured 15-minute video assessment with an Exercise Scientist and Remedial Massage Therapist. The same assessment-led approach used in clinic, delivered by video in English or Mandarin.
What the Assessment Includes
What the Online Movement Assessment Includes
This follows the same systematic process used in clinic, adapted for a Jane.app telehealth video session (you receive a secure link after booking). You finish with a plain-language summary of what was observed and a clear next step.
History review: your symptoms, activity, previous imaging reports and treatments, so the session starts with the full picture
Movement, posture and breathing observation by video, including simple movements you perform on camera
Guided self-checks: you’re talked through locating areas of tension or tenderness yourself, in real time
Assessment summary and self-management guidance: simple techniques, breathing or movement cues you can start using straight away
Next-step recommendation: in-clinic care at our Varsity Lakes clinic, self-management, or referral to an appropriate health professional near you
Setting Expectations
What an Online Movement Assessment Can — and Can’t — Do
Online assessment is a useful first step, especially if you live far from the Gold Coast. It also has limits, and it’s important you know them before booking.
Review your history and previous reports
Observe how you move, stand and breathe
Guide you through self-checks and self-management
Help you decide on a sensible next step
Provide hands-on treatment
Replace in-clinic testing such as force plate assessment
Diagnose a medical condition
Manage an acute injury or emergency
The Heal Young Method
Four Phases, One Consistent Process
Every assessment — online or in clinic — follows the same structure from our assessment-led treatment model.
History
Your story, activity, previous imaging and treatments — the full picture before any observation begins.
Observe
Movement patterns, posture and breathing, observed while you move.
Palpate
Hands-on tissue assessment in clinic, or guided self-checks online, to locate areas of restriction and side-to-side differences that may be contributing.
Treat
Care within scope, matched to what the assessment found. Online, this becomes guided self-management.
Movement assessment draws on Hill’s training as an ESSA Accredited Exercise Scientist; tissue assessment and hands-on care on his training as a Remedial Massage Therapist. Individual results vary.

Athletes with recurring niggles

When this isn’t the right service
If you have an acute injury needing urgent care, or your condition is already well managed by your current treating team, the online assessment is unlikely to add value. If that becomes clear early in the session, I’ll tell you, and the AUD $50 fee will be refunded. For emergencies, contact your local emergency services.

FAQ
Common questions about the online movement assessment
How much does it cost, and in which currency?
AUD $50 for a 15-minute session, charged in Australian dollars. If you’re overseas, your bank will convert it to your local currency.
Is the $50 credited if I book in clinic?
Yes. The full AUD $50 is credited to your first in-clinic appointment at Varsity Lakes if you book within 14 days via online booking.
Can I book from overseas?
Yes. Clients join from interstate and overseas, including Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. Appointment times are in Queensland time (AEST, UTC+10). For overseas clients, this is an educational movement assessment and does not replace care from a locally registered health practitioner.
Can I have the session in Mandarin?
Yes. Sessions are available in English or Mandarin (普通話). Mention your preference when booking.
How is the session delivered?
Through Jane.app telehealth. After booking, you receive a link to join a secure video meeting at your appointment time. No Zoom or Teams account is needed.
Can I claim it on private health insurance?
No. The online assessment isn’t claimable through private health insurance. Health fund rebates via HICAPS may apply to eligible in-clinic remedial massage at Varsity Lakes — see accepted insurance.
What do I need for the session?
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and enough space to stand and move through a few simple movements. Comfortable clothing helps. Have any previous imaging reports handy.
