Whatever your goal — getting through your day without pain, returning to a favourite activity, or performing at your absolute best — there is a stage that is right for you. Not everyone is chasing Stage 5. Some people simply want to walk to the letterbox without dreading it. Others want to get back on the tennis court, keep up with their kids, or sleep through the night. Every stage here is a legitimate goal. Heal Young Massage is set up to support you from wherever you are now to wherever you want to be.

Find your stage.
Then work from there.

These five stages map a realistic progression — from persistent, unresolved pain all the way through to elite performance. Your starting point is not a limitation; it’s simply your current position.

1
Diagnostic

You’ve tried things. Nothing has stuck.

Confused, frustrated, and not sure what to try next. Complex presentations often need a different lens — looking for the driver, not just the site of discomfort.

  • Movement-led observation in the first 10 minutes
  • Force plate or ultrasound used if presentation warrants it
  • A clear, specific reason for what we’re working on first
  • No paperwork on arrival — health history is completed online
Timeline 2–3 sessions to a working hypothesis
Cadence Every 2–3 weeks
Recurring tightness Restricted movement Mixed prior care
2
Adaptation — Increase Comfort Range

Waking up without stiffness. Working without the body in the way.

You’re not in crisis, but the body is hijacking your attention. The goal: get the noise floor down so you can focus on what matters.

  • 90%+ of session in hands-on treatment
  • Dynamic myofascial release for the structures actually driving stiffness
  • A simple home strategy — never homework for its own sake
  • Reassessment woven in, not stacked at the start

Focused on reducing systemic bracing, improving tissue adaptability, and expanding your comfortable movement range.

Timeline 1–3 sessions to adapt & expand comfort
Cadence Weekly
Desk-bound tension Sleep & posture Low-grade recurring
3
Restoration

Back to running, training, or demanding weeks — without paying for it.

Movement is mostly there, but stress or load creates compensation. Ideal for recreational athletes, managers, and business owners who need their body to match their cognitive and physical ambition.

  • Motion analysis to map the compensation pattern
  • Tissue work timed against your training week
  • Direct collaboration with your coach or physio when relevant
  • Load and recovery framed around your actual schedule

Usually paired with a structured training block or high-demand phase — sessions sit on top of your schedule, supporting you to absorb load.

Timeline 6–10 sessions across a training cycle
Cadence Fortnightly
Return to running High-stress roles Gym & lifting Creative stamina
4
Durability

Sustaining high volume. Staying durable. Preventing burnout.

You handle massive workloads — physical or mental — but the cost compounds. Designed for dedicated athletes, executives, and high-output individuals who require a healthy body to support brain focus and sustained performance.

  • Force plate testing for bilateral loading patterns
  • Periodised through your training block — heavier weeks get more support
  • Ultrasound to track tissue behaviour at sticking points
  • Pre-event tapering protocol if you’re competing

A healthier, well-functioning body directly supports cognitive focus and creative output. Hill acts as a durability partner across your training or career demand.

Timeline Ongoing integrated with training / career demand
Cadence Every 1–2 weeks
Strength & endurance Business leaders High-output creators Tactical roles
5
Peak

Operating at your ceiling — structural and cognitive efficiency.

The margin for error is thin. This is about tuning structural integrity and nervous system readiness for peak output — whether you are preparing for a national event, managing high-stakes projects, or performing under sustained pressure.

  • Force plate, motion capture, and ultrasound used as a triangulation set
  • Tight feedback loop with your coach and medical team
  • Pre- and post-event protocols built around your specific event
  • Direct access — same- or next-day availability around competition

Tuning structural integrity and nervous system efficiency to support your brain to focus and perform at your highest potential. Hill Yang served as Sports Massage Therapist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and works with athletes on LA28 and Brisbane 2032 pathways.

Timeline Bespoke around your event or venture calendar
Cadence By event / deadline

Your stage is the right stage

Most people do not need to reach Stage 5 to live and work the way they want. The goal at Heal Young Massage is always to support you in reaching your stage — not someone else’s. Stage 2 is a complete and worthy outcome. So is Stage 3. The stages exist to give you a shared language for where you are, and a clear picture of where you could go.

Book Your First Session

Not sure which stage you’re at? That’s what the first session is for.

Hill will assess your movement, listen to your history, and tell you plainly where you are and what is realistic from there. You can book an in-clinic assessment at Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast, or start with an online movement assessment if you prefer to begin remotely.

🔍

Movement Assessment

A structured observation of how you move — identifying patterns, restrictions, and contributing factors that may not be visible in standard consultations.

📋

Plain Language Feedback

No jargon. Hill will tell you clearly what he observes, which stage appears most relevant to you right now, and what a realistic pathway looks like.

Your Plan From Here

Whether that means an in-clinic session series, a home-based programme, or simply a better understanding of what your body needs — you will leave with a clear picture.
