Remedial Massage
on the Gold Coast
Assessment-led treatment that addresses the cause β not just the symptom. Integrating soft tissue therapy, exercise science, and diagnostic technology in a private clinic at Varsity Lakes.
What Makes This Different
Evidence-based remedial massage for pain relief, injury recovery, and performance
Most massage clinics start with a technique and apply it broadly. At Heal Young Massage, every session begins with an assessment β because the same symptom can have very different causes, and the most effective approach depends on understanding yours specifically.
Hill Yang is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and Exercise Scientist. This dual background means sessions can draw on both hands-on soft tissue work and applied movement science within the same appointment β addressing not just where you’re experiencing discomfort, but what may be contributing to it further up or down the kinetic chain.
Whether you’re managing a specific complaint, recovering from injury, or working toward a performance goal, the approach is the same: assess first, then treat accordingly.
“Treatments are designed to do more than provide short-term relief β they aim to restore movement quality, support recovery, and address the underlying contributors to your symptoms.”
Assessment-Led Treatment
The session starts before the table
A thorough history and movement assessment at the start of each session shapes everything that follows. Rather than following a fixed routine, treatment is selected based on what the assessment reveals β meaning your time on the table is directed at what’s actually relevant for you.
For clients with more complex presentations, this may include force plate squat assessment using VALD ForceDecks technology, diagnostic ultrasound, or functional rehabilitation exercises as part of the session.
Techniques Used
Selected based on your individual assessment
No single technique works for every presentation. The following are drawn from as indicated by what the assessment finds β not applied as a default protocol.
Dynamic Myofascial Release
Addressing restrictions within the fascial system that contribute to movement limitation, referred symptoms, or postural loading patterns. This clinic’s primary specialty.
Trigger Point Therapy
Targeting specific areas of muscular hypertonicity that refer pain or restrict movement, using sustained pressure and neurological release techniques.
PNF Stretching
Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation β an active stretching method that works with the nervous system to support range of motion improvements.
Dry Needling
Fine filiform needles placed into hyperirritable points within muscle tissue to support local tissue response and reduce referred discomfort.
Functional Rehabilitation
Where appropriate, targeted exercises are included within the session to reinforce the effects of manual treatment and support longer-term function.
Deep Tissue Massage
Sustained, focused pressure into deeper muscle layers β used selectively where tissue quality and presentation indicate benefit.
